Despite his less-than-ideal beginning, Leon hasn’t lost his cheerful spirit. He’s a chatty gentleman who loves to crow and express himself proudly throughout the day.
With his friendly nature and confident personality, Leon would thrive in a rural home where he can stretch his legs, enjoy the open air, and watch over a flock of hens like the noble guardian he is. He’d make a lively and charming addition to any barnyard or farm.
Please note, Leon does enjoy his vocal performances, so a peaceful rural setting away from close neighbours would suit him best.

Devonport Animal Care Centre Needs Your Help!
Our dogs are in desperate need of treats and enrichment goodies to brighten their days. If you’re able to donate dog treats (no rawhide please), Vegemite, peanut butter, or cream cheese, it would mean the world to our four-legged friends — and to the humans who love and care for them.
Why enrichment matters:
A simple toy filled with a tasty mix can do so much — it provides mental stimulation, encourages healthy chewing, and keeps our dogs calm and engaged during downtime.
If you’re in the Devonport area and able to help, we would be incredibly grateful for any donations. You can drop them off at our Animal Care Centre, 108 Tarleton Road, Spreyton, between 10:00am and 2:00pm 7 days a week.

Recently, our RSPCA Tasmania vehicle — the one we rely on to transport everything for Puppy Parking at Salamanca Market — was stolen and damaged.
Thanks to the incredible work of Tasmania Police, it is now back home and we are slowly getting it back on its paws. It’s been serviced and had essential repairs, but it still needs a bit of extra love — a good clean and detail to erase the signs of its rough adventure.
If you own, manage, or know a local car detailing business that might like to help out with an in-kind donation, we’d be truly grateful. 🙏
