Why should I be concerned about childhood cruelty to animals?
Animal abuse is everyone's concern, and it doesn't happen in isolation. It is part of a far bigger problem of violence in our society. Research clearly indicates strong parallels between animal abuse, domestic violence, domestic abuse and aggressive, antisocial behaviour. Teaching adults and children empathy for animals has shown an increase in empathy for humans.
RSPCA Tasmania is currently restructuring, and developing new education programs, which will be delivered in schools and other educational facilities across the state.
