Losing A Pet
Losing a pet can be an extremely emotional and traumatic experience. Our pets easily and quickly wind their way into our hearts and lives, and their passing can leave a huge space which can be almost impossible to fill. For many they become best friend, confidant and treasured companion.
Everyone at the RSPCA understands what it's like to lose a furry friend, and so we have created a special brochure which offers some advice to help you traverse that most difficult of landscapes - grief. Simply click on the link below to download.
There are also several publications which can assist in working through the grieving process. All shelters carry copies of 'Losing A Pet' by Jane Matthews, a lovely book which deals with every issue from the journey on the emotional rolloercoaster to planning a funeral or special memorial for your beloved companion.
For more information on the Jane Matthews book or to obtain a hard copy of the brochure, please contact your nearest shelter.
