Dogs

Research has now proven that dogs actually make us physically and mentally healthier. They keep us company when we’re sick or feeling down, they can make us feel safe while we’re home alone, help us to get outside for regular exercise, and can help introduce us to people in the community.

But for an animal often referred to as ‘man’s best friend’, dogs are the animals that come through our doors most often, and are the subject of the majority of the cruelty complaints we receive.

While there are many reasons why we end up caring for many thousands of dogs each year, there are a few big issues to tackle: puppy farms, dogs being left in hot cars and behavioural issues caused by a lack of understanding by some owners about their dog’s needs.
