State Council

RSPCA Tasmania is administered by a State Council comprising representatives elected by members.  All Board Members are members of RSPCA Tasmania and are appointed by a vote of members at the Annual General Meeting.

To ensure our Society has consistency in its planning and direction, the tenure of Board Members varies from one to three years. Board Members attend meetings six times a year, but in the interim, they work on behalf of the Society researching and establishing animal welfare policies, preparing business and finance strategy documents and other activities that contribute to the Society´s operation and growth. The current Board is very hands-on in all aspects of the new direction of RSPCA Tasmania. There are six elected positions, and four local shelter representative positions on the Board. All Board members adhere to the Policies and Protocols as set out in the document Board Policies and Protocols.pdf. If you are interested in participating on the RSPCA State Council in one of these roles, please contact in the first instance Director, Suzanne Cass scass@rspcatas.org.au.
