RSPCA observes members' wishes and closes down Launceston City office
In accordance with the clearly expressed wishes of its members, the Board of RSPCA Tasmania has closed down the expensive Launceston City Head Office, and relocated its two remaining administrative staff and one of its two Northern Inspectors to the former Education building at the Mowbray Shelter site.
Interim Chief Executive Officer Angela Ayling, who is carrying out this difficult role in a wholly honorary capacity, said:
'This has been a really difficult transition, and we are expecting some communications difficulties in the short term. We are asking the community to be patient as we resolve those issues. We would also ask the community who call us to be sure that it is in fact Head Office they need to speak to, as many calls actually prove to be for one of the shelters, or for the cruelty hotline. At present, we have call diversions in place as we get established'.
Ms Ayling expressed particular appreciation to the two staff being relocated, Finance Officer Amanda and Communications Officer Helen, for 'help and support well above and beyond the call of duty'.
